Rocky the Flying Squirrel

To add a little levity to the images I share, here is one I call “Rocky”. For Rocky the Flying Squirrel. Well, he’s not part of the flying squirrel species but it looks like he’s flying since I captured him mid-leap. He was headed to my backyard bird feeder…again. Actually, I’m glad he’s around. I had a whole passel of these little guys around the house before hurricane Michael but most of their habitat (and probably individuals as well) were destroyed during the hurricane. It’s nice to know they’re recovering and still around. I won’t chase them away from the feeders right now; they need food too in order to recover and reproduce.
